Summary

3 MEALS 0 SNACKS

My sleep schedule has been getting all messed up the past week or so. Today I woke up at 3:00 in the afternoon.

I only ate two meals, but they were pretty big and high in fat and calories. I also snacked on a bite of donut but just decided to count it as my dinner since I never ate again before going to bed.

Also kinda low on liquids today, so I hope I don’t cramp up tonight while sleeping.

Day 9: Saturday 01/09/2021

Stats

  • Weight: 322 lbs
  • Steps: 209

Cardio

  • none

Workout

  • none

Diet

  • Breakfast: ½ cup oatmeal + pb powder
  • Lunch: 2 cucumber sandwiches
  • Dinner: 1 cup brown rice + 1 can spinach
  • Snacks: none
  • Drinks: 3 water + 1 coffee + 1 sleepytime tea + 3 diet root beer

Summary

Weight is continuing to go up, but I’m not too concerned about the number on the scale right now. I think these last 4-5 lbs will come off very quickly.

While I have been eating more food and more calorically-dense foods lately (stress eating, big time), my sleep schedule is also largely to blame – so my meal times are all wonky too. And that’s going to affect my bowel movement timing, and that then affects my weigh-ins.

So no worries.

I’m not going to freak out about numbers on the scale. Daily fluctuations in weight are normal anyway, and they don’t tell the whole story.

Besides, what happens one week can easily be undone the following week. So it’s not the end of the world. And as you can see above, today I started to get my diet dialed in again.

I WILL be losing weight for the rest of this week.

Just watch.

Let’s find out what this diet can really do.

Also: 3 MEALS + 0 SNACKS today.

  • Drinks: 4 water + 2 coffee + 1 diet root beer + 2 kahlua ovaltine

Summary

3 MEALS + 0 SNACKS

Not surprised to see my weight drop seven pounds, back down to 315 (the same weight I was at on 12/31/20).

Went out to Cheesecake Factory for lunch today and had half of a salad and a few bites of my wife’s mashed potatoes. That place is pretty awesome. The salad was amazing. And even though I only ate half, I bet it was still plenty of calories with all that avocado in it.

Worth it!

I really have no idea which way my weight is going to go tomorrow morning. Hopefully down or at least level out. But you never know. I’m still getting my body back to a normal sleep-eat-poop rhythm, so I’m not making any predictions for tomorrow’s weigh-in.

  • Steps: 4,737

Cardio

  • Snacks: none
  • Drinks: 3 water + 1 coffee

Summary

Well, dinner got way out of hand. I ate, and then I went back for seconds. And then I went back for dessert. Technically, I guess it was all one meal, so I’ll count today as “sticking to my diet”. I guess. But it was about 3x more food than I was planning on eating tonight.

Gotta say…this past week has me a bit stressed out – even more than usual.

I need a break from this planet.

Who ARE these people?

Somebody PLEASE tell me I’m not from this planet.

Summary

Okay guys.

While this diet blog entry says it’s “Wednesday 01/13/21”, the day I’m writing this summary is actually Saturday night…three days later.

For the last three days, I just stopped caring.

I kinda stuck to my diet…except that I’d always tack on another meal or two after dinner.

Plus snacks.

Also: didn’t keep track of my meals.

No photos.

Nothing.

Of course, I actually DID care. But that feeling was muffled out by the overwhelming sense of BLAHHHH that had been creeping up on me all throughout the last week.

Ironically, I DO remember that on this day (Wednesday) there was actually a fair amount of beer and frozen pizza consumed, plus an assortment of packaged, processed snacks.

And some other stuff.

I think.

Day 14: Thursday 01/14/2021

Summary

The carnage continued, leaving me at 320 lbs for this week’s weigh in.

And…[SPOILER ALERT]:

The carnage spilled over into the following week too…

  1. Don’t beat yourself up too bad. The past couple of weeks have been nerve wracking for everyone. We just gotta deal with the stuff that stresses us out and overcome.

Grab life by the throat and beat it into submission!

    1. Wow. Kinda dark, but…ok =)

Unfortunately, I have a feeling that we may have just ONE MORE STRESSFUL WEEK to go before my mind gets back to normal.

Oh well. Just gonna roll with it.

  2. Meditating can help you Chris. Being with, feeling and releasing fear chips away at stress eating. You begin to watch your thoughts and feelings as if observing a movie, the more you meditate. Food for thought; pun not intended 😉 Also, have you heard of Kriya yoga? Drastic in some ways, enlightening in others. Worth a bit of research. Once the inner world gets clearer, nutrition and exercise get really, really easy.

    1. Yeah, I used to meditate sometimes. Never kept it up as a daily practice, but I had good results just as a stress reliever during tough moments, anxiety attacks etc. It’s definitely something I plan on doing more of this year tho. Thanks for the reminder.
