Summary

Back on track, in terms of diet, but the rest of the day was mostly a waste. Slept in, then went for a long drive. Then watched a bunch of Youtube.

BUT…around 800p I shook it off. Washed dishes. Cleared my desk. And got to work catching up on my blog posts.

I even recorded some clips for when I restart my vlog on Youtube. I was initially hoping to restart today, but that fizzled. I’m rethinking how I want to do this and putting together a publishing schedule tonight.

UPDATE: well, so much for “back on track”. I stayed up past 200a watching Marvel movies on Disney+ and ended up chowing down on anything that wasn’t bolted down.

I ate so much damn food today, it’s not even funny. I basically binged all day long.

I think tomorrow I’m going to get out of the house and hang out at a cafe all day. At least that way I won’t eat so much food.

Summary

Well, except for a brief bump in motivation on Monday, I basically just gave up completely this week. Actually, I suppose I quit trying sometime last week.

It’s not that I “decided” to quit trying, quit dieting, quit tracking my meals and stuff. It just gradually HAPPENED.

I’ve actually fallen off the weight-loss wagon lots of times over the years. And if you look back, it even happened a few times over the past 11 weeks that I’ve been blogging about my weight loss journey.

But it lasted a lot longer this time around.

One reason for this is that the funk set in just as my weekly blog cycle ended (Friday thru Thursday).

See, three months ago I created a blog post template for all these weekly weight loss updates, when I started my initial 6-week weight loss journey after hitting my all-time high weight of 329 lbs.

Every week, I copy/paste the blank template into a new document for the upcoming week. And then I simply fill in my meals and other data as I go throughout my day – takes like 10 seconds.

But this time, when Week 4 ended and it was time to set up the blog document for Week 5, I was feeling sh*tty and just kept putting it off until “later”.

Well, later didn’t come around until several days into the week. And by then I had forgotten what I ate for the first several days.

And then the next day, I blew it off again.

So I basically quit everything for all of Week 5.

But that’s okay.

No biggie.

In the past, when I attempted to lose weight and then “quit”, it would be months or even years before I’d make another serious attempt at losing weight and blogging/vlogging about it.

But now I’ve made enough progress over the last couple years that I seem to dust myself off pretty quickly and get right back on it within a few days.

Sometimes I give up, quit – and then get back on track within a few hours.

I no longer freak out when I binge or cheat or quit because I know that I’m going to get right back to it before long.

So, we’ll see how much longer this current funk lasts.

Maybe I’ll get right back up on that damn horse first thing t omorrow.

Maybe.

I guess you’ll just have to wait til next Friday to find out 😉

oOohHhh…so SUSPENSEFUL!!!

    1. Yeah, there ya go. That’s a good habit to have right there.

Looking back on last week, I realize that we ate out a lot more often this week. I think that also contributed. When I eat at home, I literally just eat at my desk with my laptop in front of me – usually watching Youtube as I eat. So it barely takes a few seconds to pull up my Google doc and add in my meal.

I’ll get it. Just gotta keep practicing til it becomes automatic.

      1. It’s a good habit to get into. And it scares the shit out of you when you start logging those drive-through meals. I was blown away with how bad I was actually eating making regular Taco Bell runs. lol

        1. Oh yeah. Logging stuff down has been an eye-opening experience. Let’s not even get started with what I’ve learned about myself the last couple weeks lol.

          How am I even married?!

          How am I even ALIVE?!

          YEEEESH 😉

    1. It’s weird. I enjoy vlogging. I actually miss it. And when I do it, it seems to energize me rather than drain me. It doesn’t stress me out or anything.

Yet…I still keep dragging my butt week after week and haven’t started it up again. I guess that in the back of my mind, I’m putting too much pressure on myself. idk.

Well, as I wrote about in a guest post a few weeks ago on Don’s site, sometimes the real problem isn’t what it seems. Since everything’s connected, maybe it’s just stress from one aspect of my life spiling over into this aspect (content creation). I’m not sure.

Anyway, thanks for stopping by, Ryan!
And for letting me ramble lol
