Didn’t record anything til 2 days later. I think I might have eaten some more food besides what is listed, but I forget.

I’m going to have to achieve Biggest Loser style weight loss in order to make my weight goal by next week’s DietBet deadline. Idk man.

Okay. I’m starting to feel like myself again.

The funk is fading away.

Felt really good, really motivated all day long today.

I even washed the dishes that had been stacking up on my desk all week.

But I think I’ll call it a night and go to bed early before I do something I’ll regret.

Had another good day today. Losing three pounds from yesterday to today probably helped.

Even though it’s a longshot, I am still trying to win my diet bets for January. Yesterday I calculated that I’d have to lose three pounds every day from then through Thursday in order to win all three games. That’s a crazy amount of weight loss in such a short period of time, with ZERO leeway.

But so far, I’m on track.

I followed my diet (almost) perfectly again today too.

I’m out of cucumbers, so I substituted some pea salad into my sandwiches. But that’s not ideal, since the peas and mayo have WAY MORE calories than cucumbers with mustard.

Anyway, I hope to wake up three pounds lighter again tomorrow.

If I lose anything less than three pounds tomorrow, I’ll have to increase my calorie deficit by either cutting calories further (like going back to cucumber sandwiches) or adding some exercise.

I’m curious though, to see how effective this diet could be without exercise. So I’ll stick with my diet-only approach for now, as long as I keep losing three pounds a day.

Fingers are crossed.

Day 26: Tuesday 01/26/2021

  • Lunch: 1 cup white rice w/ frozen corn + okra
  • Dinner: 1 cup white rice w/ 1 can spinach + 1 veggie egg roll
  • LATE NIGHT BINGE: 3 pork egg rolls + ½ jalapeno cheddar loaf + 1 custard tart + more custard + baked beans and rice
  • Drinks: 5 water + 2 ovaltine + 2 diet root beer

Summary

I was hoping to wake up to a 3 or 4 pound weight loss, but I only lost 1 pound.

That’s still good, of course, but I need to lose like 9 lbs in the next 48 hours to win the 3 DietBet games I bet on.

And THAT means I need to exercise for several hours today and tomorrow like a Biggest Loser contestant, and I really don’t want to do that lol. I don’t even know if I CAN do that.

Hey, unrelated – we had snow this morning!

That’s rare for Las Vegas.

It’s beautiful to look at, but I don’t want to go out there and walk around in the freezing cold all day. I don’t have the right clothes for that. And I have nothing to prove, so I think I’ll pass.

Maybe I can do some kind of workout inside.

Come to think of it, I don’t want to do that either lol. We’ll see how it goes.

UPDATE: Well, I did end up going for a walk but cut it off after 20 minutes due to the cold.

I’m not going to do anything desperate or extreme just to win money on DietBet.com. The fact that I even considered it for five seconds bothers me and shows me that my mindset today is not what it was last month when I signed up.

If I lose the diet bet, then I lose. It’s not the end of the world. And it’s not worth stressing out over.

So I’m just going to stay the course, eat my 3 meals and 0 snacks a day and continue toward my goal of losing 100 lbs this year.

The simple diet I’ve been following works just fine when I follow it, even when I don’t follow it perfectly. It’s a healthy approach to gradual weight loss, and that’s what this was always about since Day 1.

Well.

Last night sure was fun.

And last night’s F*CK IT LET’S BINGE mentality spilled over into this morning when I grabbed one more of my wife’s egg rolls and shoved it into my face without thinking twice.

Then I felt bad and later only had 2 slices of bread for breakfast.

It was a weird morning.

Things leveled out for lunch and dinner tho. So I recovered quickly. That’s good.

I did eat a couple things outside my 3 meals, but I’m getting back on track.

The diet bet is obviously lost tho.

No biggie.

Life goes on.

But I do expect the weight loss to continue tomorrow morning. And overall I expect to FINALLY have a weekly weigh in that is BELOW my starting weight from 12/31.

I needed to weigh in at 303-304 lbs.

I’m 315 lbs (my initial starting weight a month ago).

Well, now it’s official: I lost my DietBet.com games for January.

In celebration, I stayed up late, watched something on Disney+ and powered through a bunch of snacks.

In fact, SPOILER ALERT: I continued the celebration into the next week.

What can I say.

I’m a festive kind of guy 🙂

  1. The pea salad sounds good Chris. I am sure it would be SUPER filling. I had a few cups of pea milk; wow. Satiating. The flavor left a little to be desired for me though. Keep on keeping on bro.

    1. Oh yeah, dude. Very filling and refreshing. Just frozen peas, shredded cabbage (raw) and mayo with black pepper. I love it.

      Never seen pea milk before. Gotta keep an eye out. Sounds weird but worth a try lol
